Can A Spider MEWP Climb Stairs?
Given the proper equipment, training and experience Spider MEWP’s are capable of climbing steep gradients and staircases. Additional equipment could be required to safely track up staircases.
Let us know if this is what you are planning to achieve and we will survey the site and quote for a qualified and experienced operator to safely operate and install the machine
Can A Spider MEWP enter a double doorway?
Spider MEWP’s come in all sorts of shapes and sizes, after all, there isn’t a one size fits all solution when working at height.
Most Spider MEWP’s are compact enough to enter through a double doorway. Some are even small enough to safely enter through a standard single doorway.
However, due to width restrictions and risks involved with driving a machine through a doorway, we do recommend you hire a qualified and experienced operator to safely carry out the install.
Can A Spider MEWP work indoors?
Spider MEWP’s are available in Diesel, Lithium or Hybrid models, most models are capable of working indoors with a constant 240v or 110v power supply.
Rise Platforms have Spider MEWP’s that can run indoors using a power supply or built-in Hybrid/Lithium technology. We do however recommend the use of adequate ground protection to avoid tearing carpets or scratching delicate flooring.
Can A Spider MEWP work on rough terrains?
Absolutely! Spider MEWP’s really do excel when working on muddy, rough terrains. If ground conditions are unpredictable, eg if working over dips and voids then the Spider MEWP’s versatile outriggers can be used to reduce the risk of the machine tipping over. Ground guards can also be provided to reduce risk and protect grassed areas from churning.
Can A Spider MEWP climb ramps?
Given the proper knowledge, training & experience a Spider MEWP is capable of climbing ramps to access over obstacles and stairways.
Can A Spider MEWP climb curbs?
Given the proper knowledge, training & experience a Spider MEWP is capable of climbing curbs to access onto paths, we would recommend using pads / sleepers to reduce the gradient.
does A Spider MEWP have low point loadings?
When comparing a tracked Spider MEWP to a traditional cherrypicker, not only is the Spider MEWP much lighter, but the weight is spread much more efficiently with the help of its tracks and outriggers.
Point loadings can be further reduced with the use of Outrigger Pads and Ground Guards.
For example, a typical 15m (50 Foot) Spider MEWP weighs around 2,000 kgs. By comparison, an equivalent self-propelled cherry picker will weigh in the region of 6000 kgs.
